I Don’t Want to Block or Unfriend Anyone, But…

Your political posts truly ARE disgusting. So stop it already!

I’m not a social media addict, but I do check up on the doings of my friends and acquaintances, and I post occasionally to keep them up to speed on my doings, my life, my books, my travels, my rants.

However, increasingly, social media posts contain shared content that is fake news (doesn’t anybody fact-check anymore?) and/or photos of the most disgusting person in the known universe saying something disgusting. A recent post by a friend displayed the dancing buffoon, with her added comment, “This is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen!” It wasn’t in all caps, but sounded like it could have been.

I guess she wanted all her friends to feel disgusted too.

Nowadays, I have to grit my teeth before launching Facebook. My little tribe of friends is scattered around the world, which is why FB is so handy for keeping up with everyone. My tribe is filled with smart people, many of whom are passionate about politics, particularly those of the US of A right now.

Yes, this election is a hairy one, a very close race, with the potential outcomes vastly different—fascism and dictatorship, where the military would be used against…
