I feel your pain. There are so many examples of smart people trying to move the needle. Here's one: the Florida water management districts assembled in the mid-80s to advise then-Gov Graham (R) that sea levels were going to rise, salt-water intrusion was going to kill orange groves, and there would be vastly insufficient fresh water supplies from rivers flowing in from Georgia and Alabama. Nearly 40 years ago, we all saw the potentials for disaster, and still no one in power seems to consider any of this a problem. Keep writing, Ono. We have to keep speaking out until someone finally connects over-population, not to economic growth, but to the end of civilization as we know it. Thank you so much for this important essay! :D
