Infrastructure, agriculture, climate change, supply chain issues, Wall Street, housing, jobs, and so on... EVERYTHING is affected by unchecked growth. One side says we need to keep the birth rate up to bolster the economy (i.e., an unchecked capitalist economy), create jobs, and so on. The religious right says "have as many children as you possibly can" because the bible says go forth and multiply (kinda like invasive Himalayan blackberries) and cover the earth. But Earth is not infinite, her riches are limited, and we have been squandering all of it in a search for bigger homes (trees, clearcuts), bigger farms (destroying habitats, poisoning land and waterways), hotter cars (oil/gas/methane resources scarcer now and burning up the atmosphere), all those things we want but do not need... We are stealing from our children's futures. We're fat, lazy, spoiled, entitled... and those of us who know how to grow our own food will survive. Everyone else? Good luck with getting on a spaceship to Mars.
