I've been having some strikingly similar thoughts lately. I have two books, one poetry and one a collection of Tico Tales, and the first thought that came to mind, when asking myself why should I publish them was "They will make nice Christmas gifts." Not the best reason to publish, I'd say. Meanwhile, I haven't written a thing in weeks other than what I'm being paid to write (I'm a digital nomad of sorts nowadays). I haven't painted, haven't worked in the garden much... So thank you, Steve, for sharing this piece. I totally get it. But having said that, I love your writing, you are very good at it, and I know you love doing it. Those are reasons enough, I'm thinking... for me too. ❤️
