More useless advice from the Foo Bird
Every time I log on to Medium lately, I’m reminded of an old story one of my exes would repeat — whenever he had too many gin & tonics, i.e., daily — about why the mysterious Foo Bird went extinct. Apparently, scientists say, it had a flawed gene that caused the bird to fly in ever decreasing circles until it flew up its own ass.
Is this what’s happening on Medium? If you look at your daily feed you’ll probably see a large percentage of the articles are about Medium: how much you can/can’t earn, stats are going up/down, gripes about changes to the format/distribution/curation/reads/etc., how to write better titles/content/internal format, and so on.
In other words, FooBird-ism. Keep it up, writers. If we continue to reproduce with these bad genes, it’s bye-bye Birdie.
