My writing workshop leader's highest complement for a poem was "Highly evocative." Equivalent to an A+. This piece is so highly evocative that it made me cry, a welcome release right now while my good friend struggles to stay in this world after heart surgery, and at the same time my partner's mother is struggling to give up her ghost.
