Semi-conscious, during a near-catastrophic heart episode a few years ago, I could see ahead of me two bottles of soda, one Coca-Cola, the other Pepsi, and I was "expected" to choose one. When I woke up, I realized that approaching death, when death is truly imminent, is something like choosing between Coke and Pepsi. In other words, they are not the same, but neither one is scary. We choose to stay in this world, or we choose to enter the next. I am completely at peace with this idea.
