Thoughtful piece, Floyd! "Retirement" is something I've been thinking about for some time, in the sense that I no longer understand the term the way I used to. I "retired" a handful of years ago after selling my business, but I'm still working— the "job" is different. Hard to imagine retirement being just sitting around reading the newspaper all day. Yes, not working at something interesting is similar to being already dead.
